FABRITEC™ Wall Panels Quiet FAA's Pacific Operations Control Center
FABRITEC Wall Panels were recommended as a solution to the problem because they would absorb echo, quieting the noisy hallway and the adjoining conference room. FABRITEC panels are made from illbruck's proprietary willtec® foam core. willtec is Class 1 fire-rated, extremely lightweight and absorbs sound as well as bagged fibrous products, but with less material, thickness and weight. FABRITEC is designed to absorb noise at a wide range of frequencies, is especially effective at absorbing speech and other mid-range sounds, and has a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of 0.80 to 0.85. " The noise level in the hallway made using the conference room impractical at times," says Doug Northington, operations support manager for the POCC. "Now, the FABRITEC panels absorb much of the noise, which results in a quieter hallway and conference room." " We wanted to aesthetically match the installation to the décor that was already there," says Doug Northington, operations support manager for the POCC, adding that illbruck even placed POCC's logo in the centerpiece panel. "The panels attach to the wall seamlessly," he continues. "They're so lightweight it looks like they just hang magically. You can't tell there was a new installation." POCC staff were so pleased with illbruck's solution to their noise problem, they installed FABRITEC panels in the offices of the operations manager and operations support manager. FABRITEC adds color and texture to any room using the latest fabrics, colors and textures, such as Guilford and Maharam and others. A microperforated vinyl covering is also an option for stain resistance and easy cleaning. FABRITEC Walls Panels are durable and easy for one person to install with AcouSTIC™ foam adhesive, hook and loop, Z and I clips or splines. The panels can be made with either square or full-beveled edges, and have a tackable, impact-resistant surface.
